My painting of Twin Islands in Indian Arm, BC, is by far my favourite piece of art. It’s always the first thing visitors notice, often followed by questions about the artist’s commissioned work. The stormy blues, gentle greys, and deep forest greens perfectly capture the calm moods of the West Coast and connect me to a place where I spend much of my time. Each time I look at it, I feel transported — imagining the cool breeze, salty ocean air, and distant calls of seabirds. It’s impossible not to be drawn into the setting it so vividly portrays.

Every day I see Mareija’s painting of my favourite view and feel a wave of peace and joy. She created a custom canvas of the northward vista from the top of Cypress Mountain, and the snow, trees, and mountains are truly enchanting. It adds incredible depth and beauty to my dining room, and guests always ask where it’s from. I couldn’t be happier.
